GIS has a specific system called PBIS. PBIS is a positive behavior system that encourages students to show good citizenship, practice a growth mindset, and live out the core values of GIS. The PBIS houses are divided into 4 cross-grade groups or “houses” which are the Red, Green, Blue, and the Yellow. These houses meet once a month to discuss the 3 Rs (Respect, Resilience, and Responsibility) and lift each other up to be their best selves every day. The 4 Houses compete with each other to earn PBIS points by demonstrating the GIS values. At the end of the semester, all the PBIS points are gathered up, and the house with the most points would be rewarded with a pizza party.
