New Year Celebration in NYC

Many countries celebrate the New Year in their own ways.However, what about New York City? New York City is famous for its New Year celebrations. In NYC, there is Times Square. On the last day of the year. Times Square hosts the celebration,and people come to New York to join the event. But If you want to see this clearly, you should come early and wait, because people from all over the world want to go there, so there are a lot of people that day. Someone waits for up to 19 hours. But most people say it was not bad.They just enjoy the atmosphere and events.

This event started in 1904. That was the first year it was held.featuring fireworks and lights instead of the ball drop, which started in 1907.

But there is one important event :the Ball Drop. The Ball Drop is the most important event. If there is no ball drop, many people would not come. When the year changes, the big ball opens, and a lot of colorful confetti falls. That symbolizes a new beginning,hope,and renewal.

People wear hats. If you go there, you can get hats too. They are the symbol of this event. The hats are purple in color. And the staff distribute the hats to the people who are in the event.
