New Friday Clubs

This semester, GIS is opening a variety of new Friday clubs for students to explore their interests and try something new. From creative and academic clubs to sports and global activities, there’s something for everyone. Friday clubs are a great way to meet new people, build skills, and enjoy learning outside the classroom.
BAND-AID
BAND-AID is GIS’s student band, where students come together to practice and perform music for school events and concerts. Members will work as a group to prepare songs and improve their musical skills along the way. Anyone interested in joining is welcome, and auditions will be held before the club starts.
Basketball
The Basketball club is for students who want to play basketball, improve their skills, and enjoy competitive games. Practices will focus on teamwork, fundamentals, and overall performance. The goal of the club is to help students grow more confident on the court while building a stronger team. It’s a great option for anyone who enjoys sports and staying active.
Green Science Creator
Green Science Creator is a club where students can explore science in a more creative and hands-on way. Instead of just learning from textbooks, members will experiment and express their ideas through projects. The club encourages students' curiosity and new ways of thinking about science.
AP (Asian Parliaments) Debate
AP debate introduces students to a debate format that is different from what many are used to. Members will learn the rules, structure, and speaking skills needed for Asian Parliament-style debates. The club focuses on improving critical thinking and communication skills. No prior debate experience is required.
Eco-Friendly & Well Being
Eco-Friendly & Well Being focuses on learning how to take better care of both ourselves and the environment. Club activities will cover topics like healthy food, skincare, exercise, and sustainable habits. The goal is to raise awareness about how everyday choices affect well-being. This club is great for students interested in health and eco-friendly living.
Global Bridges Club
Global Bridges Club connects GIS students with communities around the world. This year, the club will work with RECCAM in Cambodia through cultural exchange, online tutoring, and educational support projects. The goal is to learn about global issues while making a positive impact.
Entrepreneurship
The Entrepreneurship club gives students a chance to explore business and marketing in a beginner-friendly way. Members will try out ideas, plan small projects, and work in teams to carry them out. The club focuses on hands-on learning without pressure. It’s a good fit for students curious about business or future career paths.
GIS Arts & Crafts
GIS Arts & Crafts Club is a relaxed space where students can enjoy creative activities and unwind. No art experience is needed — the club is open to everyone. Members can try new things, make crafts, and connect with others. The focus is on having fun and expressing yourself.
Multicultural Activity Club
Multicultural Activity Club is about learning and appreciating different cultures. Members will explore languages, greetings, food, and traditions from around the world. The club aims to help students become more open-minded and respectful of cultural differences. It’s a fun way to better understand diversity.
Society & News Comics
Society & News Comics allows students to share social issues and current events through comics. Members will turn news topics into visual stories and creative artwork. The club encourages both creativity and awareness of what’s happening in the world. It’s ideal for students who like drawing and storytelling.
Tutoring Club
The Tutoring Club offers academic support for students who need extra help in core subjects. Students can receive targeted assistance to strengthen their understanding and improve their performance. Some students may be required to participate for at least two quarters. The goal is to support academic growth and confidence.
Robotics
Robotics Club is for students interested in engineering, technology, and coding. Members will design, build, and program robots through hands-on projects. The club focuses on problem-solving and practical application of coding skills. Prior coding experience is required to join.
Friday clubs are more than just an end-of-week activity—they’re a chance to grow, collaborate, and discover new passions. We encourage all students to step out of their comfort zones, meet new people, and make the most of these opportunities.
